He had married 700 foreign wives and 300 concubines, which was against God's command ( 1 Kings 11:1-8 ). These women caused Solomon to divert his attention towards their gods, and he forgot about the True God and Creator. As individuals, we should avoid getting sidetracked by anything that might lead us away from God. Moses also recognized the significance of remembering the Creator and consistently advised Israel to do the same.
